What’s New with Necklaces?
Saturday, October 3rd, 2009Looking for a cheap and chic way to update your look for winter? And you found you try to choose accessories from bracelets and cz rings? The answer may be easier and more cost-friendly than you’d think. Try sporting necklaces that are unique and interesting. This doesn’t necessarily mean you have to turn to chunky statement necklaces. Instead, try ones that are made from different colored metals, have organic materials or use interesting cuts (i.e. fringe, spikes, feathers, etc.). These pieces are great conversation starters and they’ll have you feeling an instant boost of confidence.
Worldly necklaces – They’re great for adding color to outfits. Animal prints work well with some separates, but simple shapes like discs with go the distance in terms of use. Hammered coin necklaces in gold tones work well with a variety of outfits so you can be sure you’ll get your wear out of them.
Interesting necklaces – Go for cool and chic with necklaces that use leather fringe, ribbon or cord as part of their design. These necklaces are often more affordable than ones made of metal, plus they look awesome and are lighter in weight.
Rock and roll necklaces – You might not be a super star rock-and-roller, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t add this vibe to your outfits. A little punk goes a long way, so search out necklaces that aren’t too overwhelming to your features and frame. Instead, try dark stones and make a simple statement by balancing the look with feminine fabrics.
Bib necklaces – To take a simple tee from good to great, layer on necklaces to create a bib effect. Or, buy ones that already create a cascade affect on their own. Add a pair of stilettos and a metallic clutch, and you’ll be ready to hit the town in style.
So go out on a limb this winter and try sporting necklaces that are just as fierce and fabulous as you are!
