A tiffany ring, from friend to lovers

Sunday, January 24th, 2010

Last week I had an unforgettable trip with an intimate friend to an amusement park. We had fun in almost all the items in the park but the most impressive one in my opinion was the 4-d film. It was a treasure story: with the mysterious music sounding, there appeared the magnificent world of deep bottom of the sea. I could feel the flow of the seawater, and the movement of uncountable small fishes and other sea creatures. After that there were suddenly a great amount of treasures poured upon us: rings, necklaces, and diamonds, nearly all of us could not help standing up toward them. When a ring reached my face I suddenly heard the shout of my friend: “I will get it for you Abigail! It is a Tiffany! Would you let me put it on your finger?”

I didn’t quite catch his word at that time but later thinking back, I was suddenly startled. Certainly we could not really catch any of the treasures, but the words of my friend stuck in my mind. Oh, what a romantic thing it would be if someone really sent me a Tiffany ring! But I immediately said to myself: what are you thinking about? He is just a good friend, a friend who can play with you and accompany you through any difficulties. But that’s all. And I laughed a little silently, letting the idea passing.

We had lunch together that day in an expensive restaurant in the amusement park. Yes, things are always expensive in tourist spots, but I didn’t want to appear too stingy before my friend now that he suggested it. I ordered a plate of boiled rice and went to the counter. But the moment I reached out my hand with money, it was pressed down. Turning around I found my friend smiling. “Let me treat you to the meal.”

While eating he said all of a sudden: “Do you remember the Tiffany ring in the film?” “Sure. It was wonderful.” “You want one in real?” “Haha, will you buy one for me?” “Well Abigail, I don’t have the money now but I can do that maybe later.” “Oh? You are joking again, right Harley?” “No, I am serious this time. Well I am gonna be direct. Abigail, I like you, would you be my girlfriend? I cannot afford a Tiffany by now but I will work hard to earn it.”

And I was so moved. “Sure, you have always been a good friend and I believe that you can also be a good boyfriend. Take me!”

From that day on we were lovers.

If you are planning on proposing to your special someone soon, chances are you are looking at what different types of diamond cuts are available for the engagement ring. There are many different types of diamond cuts, but here we will discuss the most popular diamond cuts for engagement rings. The princess cut diamond engagement ring, oval cut diamond engagement ring, and circle cut diamond engagement rings are the most popular.

The Princess Cut Diamond Engagement Ring

A princess cut diamond engagement ring is by far the most popular and modern diamond cut for engagement rings today. You can get your princess cut diamond engagement ring as a platinum, yellow gold, or white gold princess cut diamond engagement ring. A princess cut diamond engagement ring is a diamond that is cut in the shape of a square. This particular type of cut is very elegant and classic looking, and many women dream about having a princess cut engagement ring. The princess cut engagement ring represents a modern aspect of engagement rings. If your girlfriend loves modern pieces of jewelry and is one who keeps up with the trends, this is probably the cut that she wants for her engagement ring.

The Oval Cut Diamond Engagement Ring

Another popular type of diamond cut for engagement rings is an oval cut diamond engagement ring. An oval cut is great for designs with a wide width band, or for a very large diamond. The oval cut diamond engagement ring gives a lot of sparkle, so if your girlfriend loves sparkly jewelry, this may be the perfect cut for her!

The Circle Cut Diamond Engagement Ring

A third popular type of cut for a diamond engagement ring is a circle cut diamond. These diamonds are very classic and have been the most popular cut for a diamond engagement ring for many years. These are not necessarily modern diamonds, but if your girlfriend likes classic jewelry, this is most definitely the way to go.

Unique Diamond Cuts

If none of these diamond cuts are appealing to you or your girlfriend, you could always go the unique custom route. If you are willing to pay a hefty price tag, you can have the diamond cut into whatever shape you desire. Some popular custom shapes are hearts and asymmetrical diamond cuts. The asymmetrical cuts usually create a one of a kind diamond that your girlfriend will treasure for years to come!

A Total Package: Antique Engagement Ring Set

Thursday, January 14th, 2010

Antique engagement ring sets are harder to find than antique engagement rings in isolation. An engagement ring set is one that you buy that includes both the engagement ring as well as the wedding ring. Also, some sets may be soldered together which eliminates their viability for use since it is difficult to separate the pieces again without damage to one piece of the set.

Pros to Buying a Set

When buying an antique engagement ring it is a purchase of a unique product, of which you will not see another like it. One of the more difficult issues for couples who are interested in buying an antique engagement ring is to match the wedding band to the engagement ring so that it makes a complete set. It is difficult to match an antique wedding band to the antique engagement ring.

The easiest solution to this problem is to buy an antique engagement ring set. That way the original jeweler created the set as a whole from the start, from the design stage through the creation process. In the Elizabethan era, rings were created using different types of gold as well as various colors of diamonds, chosen especially for the overall design effect.

The stones were matched beforehand so that the set would end up as a complete unit. It is almost impossible to come up with a set that fits together so beautifully when buying them as separate units as buying an antique engagement ring set.

Cons to Buying a Set

The problem with buying a set is that there is a much more limited supply available of antique engagement ring sets verses individual pieces. The main reason behind this is that during estate sales or sales to antique shops and jewelers, the sets are often separated. The reasons for the separation of sets are myriad, the most common of which are either because a party wants to keep a part of the set, or for monetary gain.

Since the supply of antique engagement ring sets is limited, it rules out a vast supply of antique engagement rings that are beautifully crafted and may fit the specific era or style that a couple is looking to buy. For instance, there are so many choices of antique art deco engagement rings which may not come in a set. If a couple is patient enough and has the time to spend looking at individual pieces, it is possible to start with the perfect antique engagement ring and then go on to match it to a complementary antique wedding band, thus completing the set.

Cubic zirconia- A new treat for the diamond lovers

Wednesday, January 13th, 2010

The crystalline form of zirconium dioxide is known as Cubic zirconia. This synthetic material is originally hard, flawless and generally colorless in form. However colors can be added to it with the help of various metal oxides. Different sort of metal oxides impart different color. This metal has turned out to be the chief competitor of diamonds since 1976 since it appears totally and truly like a diamond. If jewelery made of diamond and CZ is placed together, a Lehman can never make out which one is the original and which is not. Even the professionals sometimes fail to detect the original one and need detecting apparatus for this purpose.

While comparing quality it is very obvious that diamond is far better but at the same time even CZ is not less. It outshines more than diamond and reflects colorful rainbow colors. It has an edge on diamonds in terms of colors and prices. Since it is not possible for everyone to get jeweleries made of diamonds, they can easily opt for cubic zirconia and feel contended with it. Since the jewelery is not much costly, you can also change them when you are done with them and go browsing for new ones. We know that only rarest diamonds are perfectly colorless otherwise all of them have a hint of yellow or brown added to them. On the other hand zirconia is completely colorless and in addition to that it can also be colored as per your choice.
These CZ gems are a very good investments and a must have in today’s era. You can team them up with any attire and look lovely with a sexy pair of clip on earrings or with some stunning bracelets. There are many online stores that can cater to your needs and serve you with the best designs. While browsing for CZ jeweleries do keep in mind the trends that are running down these days and do take care of all the aspects and then buy your set of jewelery.

These CZ jeweleries can be chic and trendy at a time and can also come out to be gracious and exciting at the other instance. Being low in cost makes them more desirable. But you should also take care of the fact that these jeweleries should be properly taken care of. They should not be used roughly as they can lose their shine and lustre. Hence special measures and precautions should be taken with your all new CZ jeweleries.

Hello, I’m Tina Black you can see more about CZ jeweleries or see those bracelets and clip on earrings.

All you need to know about Cubic Zirconia

Monday, January 11th, 2010

When zirconium oxide is found in the form of cubic crystalline it is known as cubic zirconia. It is generally colourless, hard and in the optically flawless form. It can come in the variety of colours. However, people get confused in zircon and zirconium. Zircon is made of zirconium silicate. Since formulated in 1976 Cubic Zirconia gives a strong competition to diamonds. It is a synthetic element which is very important in economically terms. Synthetic moissanite is the latest cultivated material giving a solid competition to this metal.

This synthetic metal has a very high melting point of 2750C.Earlier there is no crucible available that can hold this metal in the molten state.  However, later the stabilization of this metal was realised and a new product that is stabilized zirconia was made in 1930. This synthetic material was used in the form of polycrystalline ceramic.  Even there is a natural counterpart of this metal, which is found in metamict zircon. Later people realised that cubic zirconia can also be used in different sort of jewelleries.

As the metal is generally known as diamond’s lookalike, it is used at places in the place of diamond. It is used in jewellery in the place of diamond and since is cheaper in rate hence it is used at a large level. You can identify the difference between an actual diamond ring and cubic zirconia rings by observing the shine that is reflected by the two.  Cubic zirconia always has less brilliance than diamond. Hence when you would go through artificial cz jewellery, you can simply come to know about it. However, later scientists have also come up with the new uses of this metal in lasers and other sort of optical applications.

You can find a variety of colours in cubic zirconia. You just have to name and various colours of these stones are ready to adorn you.  From yellow, orange, red, green with purple, pink, golden brown, all colours are available in this synthetic metal. To achieve these colours, various metal oxides are added to this metal. These metal oxides can be cerium, chromium, erbium, neodymium and titanium. Apart from these colours, this metal also undergoes various processes to add lustre and hardness like diamond before embedding it in a jewellery piece.  After going through all the process this metal is cut down into gemstones and is ready to serve the jeweller market.
